The Cuban Revolution is considered one of the most impactful
periods of Cuban history. What started as a legal battle to remove former
president Fulgencio Batista, led to a bloody revolution between the communist
party of Cuba and the Republic of Cuba. Even though the event was only last 3
years-long, it was the result of national instability that building for more
than 50 years. While many historians have debated what led to the Republic of
Cuba being overthrown by the Communist Party, foreign intervention, political
corruption, and the mistreatment of its citizens are the most agreed-upon
reasons.
